HELLENIKA
Nobody could have predicted that the meeting up of Simon Gloftis, the visionary behind the phenomena that is Hellenika, and visual Artist Shannon Doyle would result in a unique relationship. This collaboration has seen Shannon deliver Simon’s creative visions for over 10 years. Shannon has provided original art and decorative finishes for the original Hellenika. A series of realist animal portraits, faux concrete finishes, and a large mural of an ancient olive tree. The popularity of one little lamb portrait soon had Simon replacing the olive tree mural with an iconic 8-foot-high lamb.
Hellenika Restaurant was completely refurbished in 2017 and as a part of the new project Simon requested a portrait of The Greek icon Aristotle Onasis. Over the next 14 months Shannon produced 17 large portraits of Greek Icons. The result was the creation of a unique experience that blurred the line between high-end restaurant and fine art gallery.
